SOMATIC MOVEMENT
A Space to reconnect with your body, Release tension, and return to a more natural way of moving.
What’s Going On in the Body
Many of us carry a constant level of tension and low-grade anxiety in the body—over time, it becomes normal.
It’s not always easy to fully relax, feel settled, or move freely.
On top of that, many people are dealing with:
- chronic tightness
- lingering injuries
- patterns of restriction that never fully resolve
Often, the body isn’t lacking strength or flexibility—it’s lacking awareness and control in the right places.
I use body-based movement and hands-on work to help your system release tension, restore coordination, and return to a more natural state.
Rather than stretching or forcing change, we work through awareness and control.
A key principle is simple:
You can’t fully relax a muscle you don’t have control over.
So instead of pulling on tight areas, we often gently contract into them first—bringing them under conscious control—so they can actually release.
This is applied through full-body movement patterns, helping you:
- regain access to muscle groups
- reorganize how your body moves
- and reduce unnecessary tension at the source
Some sessions also include subtle hands-on or off-body work, supporting the nervous system in settling and allowing deeper release.

About the Work
My approach is informed by years of study in:
- somatic movement practices
- breathwork
- body awareness disciplines
- and hands-on techniques
These practices share a common focus:
helping the body restore itself when given the right conditions.
This same understanding directly informs my work in Somatic Tennis—where improved coordination, awareness, and ease translate directly into performance.

MY APPROACH
Sessions take different forms depending on what your body needs that day.
Some sessions are more movement-based, using guided somatic exploration on a yoga mat.
We often work through the spine in its full range:
- arching and curling
- bending right and left
- twisting right and left
These slow, intentional movements:
- bring awareness to patterns of tension
- restore natural coordination
- and reconnect you to how your body actually wants to move
Other sessions may include hands-on work, either through direct contact or working just off the body, to help release deeper patterns and support the nervous system.
Often, sessions are a blend of both.

SESSIONS
Sessions may take place on a yoga mat (movement-based work), on a treatment table (energy-based work), or move between both.
Movement-based sessions involve guided somatic exploration. You’ll be actively participating through slow, intelligent movement—not exercise, but awareness-based motion that helps reorganize patterns in the body.
Energy-based sessions are more passive. You remain fully clothed, resting comfortably while receiving gentle hands-on or off-body work in a quiet, supportive environment.
Each session is individually tailored. Some people come primarily for deep relaxation and nervous system regulation. Others are looking to improve mobility, recover from physical strain, or develop a more natural, effortless way of moving—on or off the tennis court.
Most experience a combination: a sense of ease in the body, clearer movement, and a deeper connection to themselves.
SESSIONS MAY SUPPORT:
• reducing chronic tension and tightness
• improving coordination and mobility
• recovering from physical strain or injury
• calming the nervous system
• reconnecting with the body
• developing more ease and efficiency in movement
The work is gentle and non-invasive, and many people experience sensations of warmth, calm, or subtle energetic movement during a session as the body settles into a more balanced and receptive state.
Many clients find that regular sessions help them not only feel better physically, but also improve their resilience, outlook, and overall quality of life.
